Rev. Dr. William Melford Patray, Sr., was born unto the union of Deacon Solomon R. W. Patray, Sr., and Mother Candace Stevens Patray in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa.
Rev. Dr. Patray served as President of Providence Baptist Church Men's Department and President National Baptist Men's Department of Liberia up to the 1989 uprising. Rev. Dr. Patray was Ordained as a Deacon at Wendell First Baptist Church on July 22,
2001. Dr. Patray preached his initial sermon on February 02, 2003, and was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dr.
Patray was ordained into the Gospel Ministry on Dec. 17, 2006,
after successfully completing all of the requirements of the Catechizing committee of Wake Baptist Association, Raleigh, NC. Rev. Dr. William Melford Patray, Sr., was highly recommended for Ordination and on Dec. 17, 2006, he was duly ordained with all of the rights and privileges. Rev. Dr. Patray, Sr., served as Vice Chairman and President of Providence Baptist Church Fellowship U.S.A. for four years and during his presidency, the Fellowship was granted 501C3 status. Rev. Dr. William M. Patray, Sr. is the former Chairman of the Board of Director of PBC Fellowship. Rev. Dr. Patray lost his lovely wife, former Patricia Angela Tucker after more than 40 and a half years on February 11, 2022. They were blessed with five children, Dr. Willnella Cora Patray, Ms. Candace Helen Popoh Patray, Mr. William M. Patray, Jr., Mr.
Richard K. Patray and Mr. Melford R. Patray. Rev. Dr. Patray has two grandchildren, Melani Angeline Patray and Justyce Dion King Patray.
Rev. Dr. William M. Patray, Sr., is a graduate of Monrovia College & Industrial Training School, Inc. (African Methodist Episcopal Church). Rev. Dr. Patray, has an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Wayne County Community College in Detroit Michigan, and two Bachelor's Degrees from Shaw University in Raleigh, NC, one in Public Administration and the other in Business Management. Dr. Patray has a Master of Divinity from Shaw University Divinity School and a Doctor of Ministry, from Eastern Carolina Christian College & Seminary, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Dr. Patray, also completed One Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at the Durham Department of Veterans Affairs in Durham, North Carolina. Dr.
Patray is a Notary Public of the State of North Carolina and a License Insurance Agent.
Rev. Dr. William M. Patray, Sr. served as former Associate Pastor of Wendell First Baptist in Wendell North Carolina as well as the Director of Christian Education and general chairman of the program committee, Rev. Dr. Patray St., was also a senior teacher of Sunday school as an adult class teacher at Wendell.
Rev. Dr. Patray, wants you to know in spite of all he has achieved, he owes it all to the Lord who Continues to grant him grace and mercy and he loves God with his whole heart. His daily prayer iS that the Lord allows him to be a blessing to others as he sojourns through this barren land and Tafes a difference in this world. Rev. Dr. Wiliam M. Patray, Sr. is currently the founding Pastor CElatidia Memorial Baptist church, organized and duly registered in the State of North Carolina.
